Three little pigs

Joining in with Ginny and her yarn along.  A bit of post Christmas crafting resulted in three little piggies and a big bad wolf.  The patterns are from Knitting Animals by Anne-Dorthe Grigaff, although I adapted the fox pattern to create the wolf buy basically knitting a different style tail, and obviously changing the colour.  The idea is to make a bag to put these in, along with a pocket to hold the story of the three little pigs.  Once the bag is finished, it will be popped in my shop, Aisling Designs to see if there is any interest for them.  My favourite thing about them is their little corkscrew tails!

As for reading, I picked up a magazine when out shopping the other day, permaculture.  I have read a few of these before, and found them really interesting, and now I have a purpose, ie educating myself for the distant future when we get to build our hobbit hole, it is even more interesting. Also reading the Dalai Lama's new book, that I got for Christmas.  Again, another book that makes so much sense.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has been up to.

  1. Hi Claire - really cheeky but any chance I can bagsy these before you put them in the shop? This set would be perfect for Isobel's birthday at the end of the month? It really is lovely - must knit more animals :-)

  4. Lovely, and I recognise your wolf pattern - he was my fox in the Gruffalo set I made recently.
I love the little piggies tales too!

Enjoy your permaculture magazine - a mag we subscribe to, it's always read cover to cover and we never tire of it, it never becomes repetetive. Very inspiring.

  8. Wow looks klike you have got yourself a sale already...go you! I love the pigs with their cute little tails. We had knitted finger puppets loads of them and they really help with creativity, storytelling and language, they enhance the stories so much :)

  9. Happy New Year! Its been great catching up with all you've been up to again. I am very impressed with your efforts in the allotment. Ususally I don't venture into the garden much this time of year, but its been so warm, we have been lucky! I love your piggies, what a great idea, I bet those sets would sell like hot cakes in the shop, and great that you already have your first sale! The book sounds very interesting, as does the magazine. Plenty of educational reading there! Thankyou for popping by my blog and for your kind comments too. Liz x

  11. Hi! I'm just popping over to answer the questions you left on my blog about colourwork...

How did I teach myself? Um, I don't have a great answer for this! I just picked it up and tried it out ;) Trial and error being my main approach for learning new techniques!

It isn't as difficult as it looks, I don't think. You have to pay attention, which is the hardest part for me ;)

Knitting from a chart is something I haven't tried before, but the colourwork chart just shows which stitch is which colour, so it's easier than ones with all sorts of different symbols! A good intro, I think!

Thanks for your nice comment, I am indeed very proud!
